The practice of Yoga has been observed for over 5000 years and the ancient Yogi's primary objective for participating in this practice was to achieve enlightenment; therefore, they meditated for hours. The Yogi's found that in order to sit in the same position for long periods of time they would have to stretch their bodies, and this is how they discovered the many asanas (or postures) that we practice in Yoga today.

In our yoga practice we must relax the intensity of our efforts and meditate on the inner journey, because this yoga never ends.

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us".
